Q: What skillset do you need to use PHTC?

A: PHTC was written to take the reader by the hand to learn how to use the tools commonly used by hackers. The novice security person finds this invaluable while the professional finds PHTC an excellent reference manual.

Q: Are all the tools used in PHTC free?

A: No. There are a least a couple to tools that require you to purchase a license to use them beyond the shareware period; however I have provided all tools on the accompanying CD to recreate each lab in the book..

Q: How long before PHTC Second Edition?

A: Probably one the more asked questions. I expect PHTC II to be released by December 2008. When writing a book the process takes some time between editing changes and approvals, etc...

Q: I've heard you going to offer CISSP credits in the future; is this true?

A: Yes! I'm currently working on the material to offer CISSP Credits. At this point those completing the course (~40hrs work) will receive 40 CPE Credits. This was also another driving reason to move the site hosting away from Google as I needed a more robust site to make this offer. Once the course is ready I will add a link on the menu to the left.
